Kansas State University held its fall commencement exercises on Saturday, and among those receiving degrees were 17 current or former Wildcat student-athletes.

Highlighting the 17 who graduated on Saturday were 16 members of the K-State football team, including current juniors Collin Klein and Chris Harper, while Matt Giller of the baseball team rounded out the graduates. Six of the graduates have earned Academic All-Big 12 honors this past season.

The group was honored on Friday night at the department’s annual graduation reception inside the K-State Alumni Center, a function that is in its third season.

K-State continues to rank among the league’s best in terms of academic success as it has led the Big 12 Conference in all-sports graduation rate for the past four years. Both the football and baseball programs, represented with graduates this fall, have also led the Big 12 in graduation rate for their respective sports in the past two seasons under head coaches Bill Snyder and Brad Hill.
